Hessenstein Forester's House

From Hamburg to Holstein

Peter Marxen, the co-founder of Hamburg’s legendary Onkel Pö jazz club, decided to leave Hamburg behind. He now runs a restaurant in the Hessenstein Forester’s House (which is part of Gut Panker), where he primarily serves rural, regional dishes. The restaurant’s many regulars appreciate its special atmosphere, which in the summer can also be enjoyed on the beautiful terrace.

The neighbouring Hessenstein tower affords views of the farmland around Gut Panker. In clear weather, the neo-Gothic brick tower, which was erected in 1841, permits views of the cranes of the Kiel shipyards all the way to Fehmarn and even Denmark.
